About
Polish Pottery
Polish pottery was originally created as folk art in the early 1800s and is still handmade in the small village of Bolesławiec today! Over 200 craftsmen create each piece using a hand stamping technique and freehand designs, meaning no two pieces of Polish pottery will ever be exactly alike.
Polish stoneware is created from white clay, which is lead- and cadmium-free. It’s extremely durable and can withstand abrasives, dishwashers, microwaves, and ovens. However, as durable as the pottery is, rapid changes in temperature may cause cracking, so buyers will want to avoid putting dishes over an open flame or moving them quickly to the oven from the freezer.
